Es ist der Anfang, nicht das Ende!
Play up! Sports Management GmbH als Besitzer des www.swissmtbproteam.ch freut sich die MTB-Szene über Ramona L. Kupferschmieds Zukunft zu informieren: Ab sofort wird Ramona sich auf die MTB Disziplin Downhill fokussieren. Ein fulminanter Neustart.
Blicken wir kurz zurück: Im Jahr 2012 meldete sich Thomas Kiser bei Ramona, weil für die Jugend Europameisterschaften noch ein Mädchen fehlte. 2014 durfte Ramona mit Vital Albin und Nick Burki den Europameistertitel feiern. Im gleichen Jahr wurde Ramona in der U17 Kategorie auch Schweizermeisterin. Es folgten zwei schwierige Jahre als Juniorin. Trotzdem gewann Ramona im 2016 die Gesamtwertung des Swiss Bike Cup. Ein Highlight war der 11. Rang beim UCI MTB World Cup in Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN). Diese Strecke liebte sie; sie gilt ihr als «die wohl schwierigste Cross-Country Strecke des Weltcup-Zirkus». 2019 wurde sie nochmals Siegerin in der Gesamtwertung des Swiss Bike Cup. Im 2020 stieg sie als Dritte aufs Schweizermeisterschafts-Podest.
Doch nagte an Ramonas Selbstvertrauen, dass sie an internationalen Anlässen ihre Ziele nicht immer erreichte. Und dann brach die Corona-Pandemie über uns herein…. Plötzlich hatte Ramona, aufgrund der ausgefallenen Wettkämpfe, Zeit neue Disziplinen wie Dirt Jump und Gravity auszuprobieren. Ihre Sprünge wurden immer höher und weiter. Eigentlich erstaunlich, dass Ramona plötzlich solche Freude am Springen fand. Wir erinnern uns: Im Juli 2016 verletzte sie sich beim Springen auf der Lenzerheide mittelschwer. Gesichtsverletzungen und ein Leberriss waren die Folgen. Diese Verletzungen hätten fast ihre Beinverlängerung im September gefährdet.
Nun folgt Ramona ihrer neuen Passion dem Downhill. Schlussendlich hat man nur ein Leben. Das Wichtigste dabei ist, bei dem was man tut seine Erfüllung zu finden. Wir werden Ramona auch weiterhin unterstützen und wünschen ihr viel Erfolg auf dem neuen Weg. Ramona wird mindestens im 2021 weiterhin im www.swissmtbproteam.ch bleiben.

«It’s the beginning, not the end!»
Play up! Sports Management GmbH, the owner of the www.swissmtbproteam.ch is pleased to inform the MTB cracks about the future of Ramona L. Kupferschmied: Ramona will focus on the MTB discipline of Downhill, with immediate effect. A fabulous fresh start!
Let’s look back for a moment: In 2012, Thomas Kiser called upon Ramona because they were short of a girl for the Youth European Championship. In 2014, Ramona celebrated the title of European Champion together with Vital Albin and Nick Burki. In the same year, Ramona became the U17 Swiss Champion. Then she had to go through two tough years as a Junior. In spite of all the odds, Ramona won the Swiss Bike Cup overall ranking in 2016. Her finishing 11th at the UCI MTB World Cup in Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN) certainly was a highlight. She had always loved this track, calling it «the probably most difficult Cross-Country track of the World Cup tour». In 2019, she won the Swiss Bike Cup overall ranking once more. In 2020, she came up third and mounted the podium at the Swiss Championship.
But not always reaching her goals at international events gnawed away at Ramona’s confidence in herself. Next, the Corona pandemic befell the world…. All of a sudden, Ramona found the time to try herself at some new disciplines like Dirt Jump and Gravity. She started jumping higher and further. Quite astonishingly, Ramona suddenly discovered how pleased she was to jump. Flash back to July 2016: Ramona was severely hurt while jumping on the Lenzerheide track. She subsequently suffered from face injuries and a liver laceration. These injuries nearly put her leg extension in September 2016 at risk.
As from now, Ramona will follow her new passion: Downhill. After all, you have only got one life. Finding your gratification in what you are doing is the most important thing. We will go on supporting Ramona and wish her lots of success on her new way. Ramona will stay on the 2021 www.swissmtbproteam.ch .
